Trigger Finger:
We get a lot of patients who have just been diagnosed with trigger finger coming to us asking if we can help them.
How common is a trigger finger?
Around 2 to 3% of the population suffers from trigger finger.
What is a trigger finger?
Sometimes when you open and close your hands, one of your fingers catches or gets locked when you bend them and you have to use the other finger to extend it and make it straight, this is called as a trigger finger. When the finger gets stuck, it is painful and you have to keep opening the finger. This basically happens because of a problem with tendons in the hand.
Allopathic approach:
In allopathy, (the doctor advises you a splint and painkillers for the pain, and if this does not help they ask you to go for surgery.) You get the surgery done and you feel better but it leaves a bad scar on the palm and it can also come on the other hand.
Homeopathic approach:
Homeopathic medicines go and rectify the problem in tendons, this is a little time-consuming process, but we have been able to help thousands of people with trigger finger.
Homeopathic medicines strengthen the ligaments and take care of the pain as well.
What happens if you leave it alone?
If left untreated, the trigger finger can become permanent and the affected finger gets stuck in one position. It can make day-to-day tasks more difficult.
Diet restrictions:
There are no diet restrictions.
Dos and Donts:
Buy a tennis ball and keep squeezing the tennis ball whenever you can, while watching TV or whenever you sit idle, this will strengthen the muscles and tendons.
What would I do if I were in your place?
I would for sure not take any painkillers or go for surgery. I know that I am not risking anything by giving Homeopathy around 3 to 6 months to try and get rid of the trigger finger.
Do not go for surgery until you have given Homeopathy a try for at least about three to six months. Trust me, nothing is going to happen to you in these three to six months time. But if these medicines can help you avoid surgery and get rid of the trigger finger, isn't it worth giving it a try?
Take care. Stay safe.
